Airhorn

Fill open shifts with one text

Calling down the list one person at a time is the slowest way to fill a shift. Airhorn asks everyone eligible at once, and the first YES comes back to you — not to the group. (Reading and answering replies is part of Conversations, on the Plus plan.)

Use casesUpdated

How it works

  1. Write the ask with day, hours, role, and the rule: “Need a server today 4–close. First YES gets it.”
  2. Send to the right people — everyone, or a group like servers or the closing crew (Plus).
  3. Replies arrive privately in your Conversations inbox (Plus). Nobody else sees who said yes or no.
  4. Confirm one person with a direct reply (Plus) or a call, then send a close-out: “Covered, thanks.”

Why private replies matter

In a group text, every “can’t, sorry” goes to everyone. After a few coverage requests, people mute the thread — and then miss the closure text. With individual replies, the only phone that buzzes is yours.

Urgent or not

A same-day call-out before 8am should be marked urgent so it skips quiet hours. A shift next week can wait for a civilized hour.

Ask everyone at once

One text to everyone eligible. On Plus, replies land in your inbox, not the group.
